The Reichle Family love getting ice cream together and enjoy visiting Vasquez Rocks, “We found out about it this year and have been back several times. We love the landscape and our daughter loves to run around and play on the rocks.”
The Location
Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park is a 932-acre park located in the Sierra Pelona Mountains in northern Los Angeles County, California. The park is located just off the Antelope Valley Freeway (CA-14). If you haven’t driven past it, chances are you’ve seen it in a few TV shows, movies, or music videos - either way these rocks are worth the visit.
Since this was my first visit to the rocks, I parked in the first lot that I saw, but most people continue to drive past the big rock formation to an even bigger parking lot. While we didn’t travel far, this is a perfect place to hike (3.4 miles in distance and about 2 hours), but you can also have a picnic or just relax.
